At Happiness Project, our mission has always been rooted in one simple belief: mental health conversations save lives.
That belief is why our partnership with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) means so much to us.
Each year, as a Chicago-based brand, we proudly take part in one of the country’s largest Out of the Darkness Walks right here in our community. The event brings together thousands of people united by a shared purpose: supporting those affected by suicide and creating space for open conversations around mental health.
The walk is more than just a gathering.
It’s a powerful reminder of the strength that comes from community.
People show up to honor loved ones, share their stories, and stand together in support of hope, healing, and prevention. Every step taken is a step toward breaking stigma and reminding others that they are not alone.
To help extend that impact beyond the event itself, 15% of every purchase from Happiness Project is donated to AFSP.
These contributions help support the organization’s vital work — funding research, expanding education programs, advocating for mental health resources, and providing support to those affected by suicide.
Being part of the Out of the Darkness Walk in Chicago each year is one of the ways we continue to show up for that mission — not just as a brand, but as members of the community.
Because when people come together to talk openly about mental health, share their stories, and support one another, real change begins to happen.
Together, we carry forward a message that matters:
Hope is powerful. Community saves lives. And no one has to walk through their struggles alone.
